Spice Farm Tour
Location: Zanzibar
Spices and herbs were originally introduced to Zanzibar by Portuguese traders in the 16th century, brought from their colonies in South America and India.
Jambo spice farm offers a walking tour in a beautiful spice farm (shamba in Swahili). The whole family will experience how the spices, herbs and fruits grow and are grown including how they are used once harvested.
The tour entices the entire family’s senses, allowing you to smell and taste the herbs and spices-clove, lemongrass, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, vanilla, coconuts, papaya, chilli, black pepper plus the yummiest of tropical fruits- jackfruit, cardamom, cassava and oranges. The entire family will then be treated to a sumptuous traditional Swahili lunch at the farm.
